About this steel

DSC® Carbon & Stainless Damascus Steel: Forge-Ready Billets

Built for bladesmiths who want to do it themselves. These are raw, scaled billets. Thicker, heavier stock that hasn't been surface-ground or finished. You get more material to work with and full control over your own surface prep, grinding, and shaping. Not for makers who want to machine immediately, but for makers who want to forge.

Forge-Ready vs. Cut-to-Size Billets: Which Do You Need?

  • Forge-Ready (this product): Raw, scaled surface. For bladesmiths who forge, grind, and clean their own billet from stock. More material, lower cost per inch.

  • Cut-to-Size (sold separately): Precision flat-ground and soft-annealed, ready to machine immediately. No cleanup required.
